My frist Elgin

I think some of you saw the add for this one on Chicago cragslist.chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/bik/943825807.html I responed to the add last thursday, seller said some one was on the way. figured it was long gone sent him email on sunday still available. And after taking the boys to school today I made the close to three hour round trip in the driving rain to get this one. Bike gods looking out for me rain turned to sleet and snow after pulling in driveway. Got the whole deal with the girls fame with nice headbage and perfect skirts for $70.00 what a cool bike oh and rear tire nice Goodyear

I bought one of those Elgins a few years ago and sold it to a friend. He researched it and discovered it was a 1941 Victory model. He restored it and I'll provide a link to a photo. You gotta love the curved seat post and front fender over the fork.

The curve seat post tube is what attracted me to the bike. Honestly I was so excited to get this bike that I did not
notice cool front fender till half way home seeing the bike in back of the mini van

Yes I picked them up in lowell think it was 68 or 70 miles door to door from north side Chicago.

definatly two good finds. now all the elgin needs is a chainguard and your set with that one. nice frame on the second. nothing but open possibilities
