i no longer have this one, but thought i would share it anyway. this was a hawthorne frame with a roadmaster springer front end. my dad brazed all the joints for more strength. i put a briggs 3.5hp engine on it with a milled head, 3angle valve job, the intake and exhaust opened up for better flow. this thing would run 45mph effortlessly with the taller gearing i started with. notice-no pedals! i ran an auto clutch, the pulleys were changeable for quick re-gearing. i had a front drum brake laced up for the rear and a vintage sturmey archer front drum brake. it wasn't completely done, i didn't paint it yet, and decided to sell it. it brought $650 on ebay unfinished!

I'd love to have one of those but I'd just kill myself tearing around these country roads. I better stick to pedal power.

yeah, it did haul pretty good with the 3.5horse on it. my next one i want to do a 5hp briggs with an auto comet clutch. a friend of mine works at a lawnmower shop and has pretty much all the parts to build it up, pretty much like a go cart race motor. my goal is, if the belts hold together that is, to be able to do a wheelie from take off! i'll let you know how that goes!!!

I would use some kind of really good frame. I have noticed you pick up several frames and one is heavy and the others weigh nothing. I would use the heavy one.

yes, definately heavier is better. especially with a 5horse. probably wouldn't be able to run pedals either due to space. wouldn't it be cool to have a bicycle you can do burnouts with?!!!
