for some reason I’m thinking you have a cycle shop? Am I wrong on that?

I showed your bike to my “expert” wife to try to impress her with how much work goes into all these bikes in this build off.

Expert wife says: “looks like he’s missing some parts.”

I told her: “THAT’S SORT OF THE IDEA…..”

So, I did something today I haven’t done in about two years… I worked on a bike.
I didn’t do much; I stripped down the frame and primed it.

The welds in the “tank” area were a little rough, so I applied some Locktite adhesive to it to replicate smoother welds. Sort of like caulk. Before using the adhesive, I tested it on some old forks to make sure it would stick to the bike AND accept the bond with paint.

I like that type of technique to create a faux - weld. I used hot glue to simulate welds on my header dump for RaTs GaSs. Fun stuff!

I’m using this springer fork that I found on sale. I don’t like the green, so those parts will be painted black. “ I see a springer and I want it painted black”

Paint, paint, paint. Seal, seal, seal.
3 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear. I’ve NEVER had luck with home paint jobs. They all come out looking pretty janky; that’s why I will almost ALWAYS use the factory paint, no matter how old and crusty it looks. I took extra time to prep. Primed and sanded, and then sanded again between paint coats and clear coats. Time will tell.

Ha! I thought I would get questions about what’s under the cover, but not the horseshoe tournament banner.
it was an annual fundraiser for our high school wrestling team. It was a horseshoe tournament in my back yard. I was the coach for 26 years… I just retired from it after this season.
