30 July 2014 i have got this late birthday gift from a friend.

It's a 26" J.C. Higgins Sears Roebuck and Co. ladies bike.
With a push button for a horn, @ the top side of the tank.

On the left side the fork shows 4 stars.

It has a handlebar with strange curves on it.

The bottombracket says. MOS-Q MOD502-286 90586
As i am from the Netherlands and not being familiar with this kind of American Bikes.
Would i like to learn more about this bike.
Such as, wich year could it been made?
Are the parts that are still on the bike, the correct ones?
Where can i find parts for the bike?
Anybody who can tel something, please let me know.
Also asked this in this post.

And have got some helpfull reactions allready.

Who can help me out on this one?!
Last week i have been busy, cleaning up, and tune up the bb of my 50's Higgins bike.

First took apart the bb.

Cleaned up the frame.

As this where the bearings that came out, i needed to put in new ones.
I know how the bb nowadays are put together, but this bb has dustcovers on the outside of the bb.
On the right side the dustcover needs to be put between the chainring and the ring of the bearing, which is screwed on the crank.
This couldn't go wrong.

But for the left side i do have these parts.

I think this is how i should put it together.
First put on the outher ring of the bearing.
Next the dustcover.
And then the small ring.
But i have a feeling that there is missing something.
Because i don't have anything to lock up the bearing, so that it can't come loose.

This is how it is on the bike now, but the dustcover and the small ring do fall off because they aren't locked up.

I have tried it this way,but i think this is not the right way either.
The nut i used here to lock up, is from the new bb bearing set.
And it just doesn't look good to me.

This is how it looks on the right side.

Who can help me out on this one?!

Now there has been made a round lock-up nut.
I think it is not correct, but i like the way it looks.
Will post a picture soon.

I do know now, that the bike is build-up with different parts.

It has fenders with the fold / line in the middle, like the ones @ this bike.(See red Arrow)

This rear rack came with the bike.

Which i think, it could be a Westernflyer rack.
Because this one came with the bike, i'm gonna use this for now.

It has a Bendix rear hub.

With one red line in the middle of the hub.

It has a Troxel seat on it.

Which needs new cover.

Because i do like the colorflow build-up with the skirtguards.
I bought these parts today.

The rear fender that comes with the parts, i think i'm not gonna use that.
Because i do want to keep the fenders that are on my bike.
But one and other depents on how the skirtguards are gonna fit to rearfender of my bike.

It's been a long time ago that i've been here.
The bike is finished since December 2015.
