My old shipyard bikes

my newest frame has the seat clamp built into the bike. And numbers on bottom are only 79-00. There all old shipyard bikes from here in virginia. Late 80s 90s. But the one on the stand I'm thinking early 80s. Green one is my bike. Chrome one sits in my room.

Thanks. Alot of work to make it shiny again. Think it might be one of the Hawaii rentals. Can't find many chrome ones

I am guessing these are from HII? how does one go about getting one of the old bikes from there? Been wanting a Worksman or Atlas for a long time. Had an Atlas when working at Colonas shipyard but itgot rode VERY hard and nothing rally left of it when I left there.

When I lived in Hawaii, I saw a Craigslist ad for the big chrome Worksmans that were used by the companies that did the bike sunrise rides down the big mountain on Maui for groups of tourists. Drum brakes front and rear. A hundred bucks each. I was on Oahu so I passed on them but changed my mind. It was too late, they were gone in a week.

One in my fleet came back from Hawaii. Here's how you do it: A friend was a nurse roaming the world, met and fell in love with a man in the Army who was stationed there. When he was sent back to the US, the government shipped her Schwinn, free of charge so she could give it to my wife. Easy peasy
