So this is my slambike...Its not too pretty and its fairly rough in places but that just makes it more like me.

The front wheel was just because I wanted to prove to myself I could make a hubless wheel.

But anyway this is how it is currently...all ready for Bicycle Gang Summit.

I really like the wide rimmed stretched tyre look on bikes.
So I hunted round the internet and talked to friends with bike shops and the cheapest wide rims I could get in NZ was almost $200 per rim.

HOWEVER if I got them from Germany I could get them landed and on my doorstep for less than the cost of 1 rim here in NZ.

Then I decided I didnt want to go down the same old road with this.

So I bought a bunch of these...

And set about making some of these...

Then I got young Pete to get 2 of these cut for a very reasonable price...

And with a bunch of threaded rod I made up this...

And when all bolted together it looked something like this.

WHICH I was rather chuffed with tbh.

Then we moved city and things were put on the back burner for a while.

Then after moving house and ALOT of pfaffing about unpacking and getting things organised I got some steel tubing and an old bike frame that needed some work (as it was a Dirt Jump frame but a warranty claim due to one of the rear drop outs being bent out of shape) and set about alot of cutting, grinding and welding.

And today I finished it.

The rear and only brake is all mounted up and the 4 piston hydraulic disc brake is mounted and bled up.

The chain has been run, a fresh coat of primer applied and its been ridden around the driveway and has passed with flying colours.

Next weekend is Bicycle Gang Summit and all that needs to be done is for some steel plates to be screwed to the pedals for max sparkyness.

Thank you for reading my drivel
