My wife has logged about 1500 miles on this bicycle so far. It must weigh 60 lbs and it is geared 52/18. Don't tell her it should be too hard to pedal.

I can feel my knee caps popping off just reading that gear ratio. -top speed must be at least eighty.

Guys your giving me second thoughts about the bike I'm building with a 52/18 ratio.

Kenny:

1. 52/18 was the standard for 10 year old boys from the 30's through the 50's at least.
2. I had a 52/20 on here first, but it was too low, so I changed it!
3. Did I say this is my WIFES bike?

I think the 52/18 is ideal for flat terrain. And if the terrain is not flat, the only thing that works is multi-speeds. I only joke about it being hard to pedal because some people have come to believe that.

Sweet bike, she needs a 22t rear sprocket for that bad boy, would pedal like butter. Thats what I have on my Rollfast.
