Name plate removal/install

I need advice on how to remove the oval schwinn nameplate that's on the front of cruisers. In the past I've just said screw it and yanked em off, thus damaging it. I'm going to be sending one to the sandblasters and want to remove it first then slap it back on once it's been painted. Thanks.

they're just screws....a small screwdriver will get 'em out

Man these things are a pain in the neck to get off. The top screw came off pretty easy but the bottom one is on good. Tried adding wd40 and tapping the top of screwdriver with a hammer a little but that only dented it up, any other suggestions?

I drilled out and tapped my kids schwinn for 1-72 brass slot screws that I picked up at a local hobby shop. The brass screws looked really good.
