I had to share this with the RRB community because as I typed an email to a friend about it I just kept laughing...

So a while ago I posted my 76 Schwinn Fastback on Craig's having no luck on the selling side of things I decided to offer it as a Barter locally a week ago hoping to score a nice 77 Sunset Orange Stingray or a 2, 3, or 5 Speed Ray for my collection. While no Rays came my way lots of other stuff did.

Take a look at what I have been offered so far:

Mountain Bikes

BMX Bikes ***Both of which had been specified in the Ad as I was not interested in.

Sports Memorabilia
1) NBA folding chair, supposedly sighed by MJ during Championship Run
2) 2 Year Old Super Bowl sighed Football
3) Baseball Tickets for 2 games in 2014 my choice of date, MLB Local.

Firearms
1) Real - Old Hunting Rifle
2) Fake - Paint Ball Gun and Protective Gear

Four Jeep Rims with Good Tires(Evidently if you own a Stingray Bike you own a Jeep)

Puppy... Yes it says Puppy

Laughing yet?

Hope you got a laugh, after listing all this out I realized how funny it was.

What, you don't own a jeep? I can take care of that.

Here's this week's special. Two jeep like objects for only $499.

Offers and trades considered. No kittens or puppies.

So, um, what were you actually hoping for? Offer something up for barter on Craigs, and you're bound to get some offbeat stuff....

That's why it's funny, the ad specifically said what I was looking for and what was being offered was not even close. All went well anyways ended up selling the bike tonight to a nice guy who had been looking for one for his son.

Sad thing is if I had $499 I'd be dragging those home.

if i had the money, Id buy that jeep. and a way to get it. been wanting to rat rod one.

Well, not to hijack, but I actually do have 4 jeeps in similar condition I am trying to get rid of... including the two you see. They are parts jeeps I bought in a package deal a few years ago and I'm trying to sell them off before the scrap metal thieves do it for me.

My favorite laugh are the, "pricebusters." I have a similar yet far more insulting name for them privately...
Anyway, say you posted a hundred dollar bill for sale for $80.00, the pricebuster would call and tell you the hundred is only worth $50.00 and you're never going to be offered more...
Then they take your hundred and sell it for $125.00 swearing to you it's not your hundred! :)

Sounds like the American Pickers.. People expect to be able to haggle nowadays, and when I get a buyer that doesn't try to get a lower price I always think I asked too low a price.

By the way, got any more of those $50 hundreds? I'll give you 25 apiece if you'll sell me ten...:bigboss:

I asked at least one person to take his $100 to the bank and come back with $20's on a flip bike sale. Too many fake 100's out there, when you don't know the buyer.
