I am trying to lace a 2spd kickback onto a 26" spaceliner wheel. Does anyone know what size spokes are stock on those wheels, and what size i need to relace one?
thanks: 'Stillz

if you have the original hub for the rim your using, find the difference between the diameters, add or subtract that from your existing spoke length.

You need 10 1/8" spokes to lace a kickback to a drop center rim. 14 ga. spokes were standard. Everything is metric now. Gary

edited to add: 10 1/8" if you are using the old style long nipples. If you are using the medium or short nipples you'll probably need 10 1/4" spokes.

You can remember the kickback spoke length as it will be 1/2" shorter than the spokes on the same rim with a Bendix or ND single speed hub.

S-7 is 10 7/8" with standard hub, 10 3/8" with kickback.
S2 or drop center is 10 5/8" standard, 10 1/8" with kickback.

Again, you may have to add or subtract 1/8" depending on the nipples you use or if your rims are slightly off standard. Gary

just had an 26 inch S2 laced to ND front hub took 265MM 14GA spokes same/simular to Torrington .85 10 5/8

spokes are either measured in SAE sizes .080-.120
millimeters 1.8-2.3 MM
or wire sizes 18GA to 11GA

with 11GA being same as .120 2.3mm

14GA is same as .83/.85 normal spoke

2 go up in size as number grows GA are reverse..
