I've noticed many bikes that have hit the market since I've been a member here that have taken obvious cues from bikes built here. Too specific to be coincidence.
 
It is pretty obvious that bike manufacturers are going to custom bike shows and viewing custom bike forums to influence their designs. The production "naked" sport motorcycle was based on Brittish riders that removed their lower fairing after a crash, rather than replacing it.
