Double O, 00, and/or "corn head grease" work well, and are a lot more free flowing than standard grease and don't leak as badly as oil. the Double O used to be used in leaky oil filled automotive steering boxes. The corn head grease is easy to find in corn country and virtually unobtainable anywhere else.
