Hi all,
Can anyone tell me the difference between the Model W and Model WL front hubs?

For one thing the cones and bearings are a different size.

Thanks Crassly. I have a WL but the hub shell is pretty pitted. If I were to replace it entirely, would one be preferable to the other, like is one heavier duty or anything like that? Are they the same width? Also, is one prewar and one postwar maybe? Sorry about all the questions, just trying to figure out what the diff is. I need it for a prewar bike.

I'm afraid I can't answer your questions. They both use the same axle, so they must be the same width. I don't have them here side by side to compare, so I'm not sure if one is heavier duty than the other. I'm not even sure which is the older model. I might have both of them in the parts pile, but I'm not sure when I might have time to dig them out.
