I have run across some new production grips with great vintage style recently and I thought I post them up.

First is Ian's Thompson Classic Bicycle Components. He makes some ball-end and coke bottle grips in a variety of colors.

Lastly is LowBrow Customs, they have a few styles too in some more wild colors.

Thanks for the links to the cool grips.
Now all we need is for you to enter a bike in the build off with a set of those grips on them.

Would half of each Biltwell grip set be sized for a throttle tube?

I get the Biltwell grips and yes the pair are the same size:grin:

So, fellas, this is a good thread for this: my sister-in-law works for... I'll just say one of the biggest 3D printing companies in the world. A while ago, I talked to her about making me some bike grips with a retro-rocket design. She mentioned that they were soon going to be playing with a new 3D printing material that is rubber-like, and that bike grips would be a good use of that. We left it there, and didn't talk about it again. One year later, and she sends me this pic:

I'm now in the beginning stages of trying to get her to make a limited run of these made for me. I'll keep a couple pairs, and sell the rest. I'm excited, though it may still be quite some time before I see a finished product, as she works in the R&D dept. I hope to have some in the future for you guys, and in a couple different colors. I told her RED is my priority. ;)

Very Jules Vernian! Sign me up whenever you get them in.

Does anyone know where you can get 1" ID Torpedo Grips? (that don't look like a chrome Steely Dan).

I don't know about Steely Dan, but I remember the Plaster Cast Er http://www.mcmaster.com/#6225t11/=xxfo4y

I've seen that stuff (or something just like it) at Maker Faire every year. I always think about buying for grips, but I don't trust my skills to come up with anything better than grips made just for my hands. I'm not a sculptor.
