Just found this forum and I want to say hi...

Going to pick up this bike this week and it will be my first non-bmx build.

Anyone know anything about it?

It looks pretty rough in the pictures...Hopefully I will be able to use most if not all of the original parts. I'm not sure what direction I am going to take with it yet. It is hard to say without it being in my hands.

Yeah...the chainring is my favorite part of this bike.

I'd say it's definitely a Monark, the seatstsays, dropouts, fork, chainring...all Monark.

Looks like I may have gotten the shaft on the bike above. I can't get the lady to call me back now.

I am after a '54 JC Higgins also, so I guess not all is lost.
