Couple of bikes I made recently. First is an Electra with some smattering of different parts from around my garage;

I used some cafe motorcycle bars, an old horn/headlight with some rigged bracketry and some "brushed aluminum" plexiglass.

Second is a fifty seven Schwinn Spitfire;

It didn't have any fenders or chainguard when I got it, so, I stenciled and distressed a set.

I put an old headlight and a Delta clip on light for the rear.
Thanks for being able to share my affliction and also thanks to B at Cooper's Cruisers for reminding me (with the Porkchop, thanks again) how much I love doing this...

Welcome to the forum and those are a couple cool rides! Good job on matching up the fenders on the Spitfire. They look great.

Welcome.

Very nice bikes. I think you made the Electra look as old as the Schwinn.

If you continue to do work of this quality, you may need to modify your screen name. The stencil job on the '57 (and the overall build quality of the Electra) belies the "No Talent" moniker.

What he said :D Welcome aboard man.

front fork?

-backpedaler- I assume you mean on the Electra. That fork just came like that, minus the paint. I don't know what kind it is. I managed to find another like it, but it's a 24" instead of the 26". Hope that kind of answers your question.

Welcome and nice bikes.

That fork probably came off a old Huffy (or similar) MTB. I have a one like it here http://vanscyoc.net/blog/pages/bike_pho ... erendipity[image]=70
that I extended it out to make a chopper fork.

can you make me a fork like the one on the dude's electra or similar and i'll buy it from you???????

billh

I found my fork on a older Huffy MTB. It's a cheezy attempt at a suspension fork. The upper tubes slide in and out of the lower tubes. I just extended it out all the way and spot welded it in place. Replaced the spring with a threaded rod.
