I don't like having to carry a modern lock on my old bikes because I feel like it detracts from the bike. I also don't like leaving my bike unsecured. I have been trying to find an antique padlock to use but they all cost more than I am willing to pay. Last week I found a site selling working reproduction locks at an awesome price. They have locks in 3", 4", 5", 6", and 11", all of the same design. When I went to order they were out of the 3",4", and 5" locks so I ordered the 6" ($16+ $10 shipping). It arrived today and I wanted to share my new security measure in case some of my fellow members have the same thoughts.

Here is the lock.

I need to age the brass and I want to stamp it with some old railroad markings to add to it's look a bit. Might try to find an old chain so I can lock it to something.

You can check out the site I got the lock from here.

Re: New Bike Lock

Nice, old locks are hard to find with keys . And they cost an arm and leg.
