Ok , so I had this mountain bike frame sitting around and originally was gonna make a fixed gear out of it. I have decided to go in another direction and make a boardtrack type out of it. Thinking of putting triple front end on it, but not raked. Will have plate between the two horizontal bars(one was added).
I have the tires picked out, the Fat Frank 26x 2.30 tannish color. Hopefully the will go good w/ the color scheme and theme "Black and Tan", you know the Bass ale /Quinness drink. It wont be black but a very dark brown and a deep tan. I think this one is gonna be shiny for a change.

made this plate w/ the holes, there will be off white plastic sandwiched in between the two plates. Plates will be an amber color (the ale and the white plastic the foam)

colors being used dark brown (the stout)

Thinking about using the yellowish/amber color instead of the tan

Looks awesome!

Love those tires...they are very cool.

Would never know that this used to be a mountain bike.

Nice job on this. The frame mod looks great. Can you give us a brazing tutorial? Did you use a plumber's torch?

Im liking it.

I know ya did'nt ask for my opinion, but I'd wack about 2" off the end of those bars.

Thanks for all of the comments. This is just a very rough mockup of what I want to do w/ this bike. When the springer arrived this morning I was just gonna see if it fit, then the tires ,oh hey wheres that seat I was going to use and it just kinda snowballed. I couldn't stop myself  .The crank still needs to be worked on as well as the pedals. Wheels need cleaned and painted, bike needs good sanding and finished paint. The stem is not the one to be used, the bars I wanted were already connected to it. The bars do look long in the pics but in person not so much. There is so much bulk to those tires ( 26x2.30) and the weight of that springer I dont know if it would be comfortable riding w/ smaller bars. The brazing was done w/ a benzomatic torch kit that has both the oxy and the gas cylinders.Home depot has them for about 45.00. The adjustment knobs are real touchy and alot of hassle, goes through alot of gas unless you are real quick. I returned mine back to store. The sheetmetal for the plates were done on a drill press w/ a key hole saw attachment and drill bits. The tires were ordered through local LBS that was a dealer for Schawabe tires, they are "Fat Franks". Oh one more thing, the front end is very, very springy, really functional. 8)

OK, I have let this bike sit since the end of Feb. I think, even though I walk by it everytime I go outside.Put about 6-8 hrs into it and made a bit of progress. The tank plates are thin wood with clear plastic behind it. There is two plates with about 1/4'' between the two. The plan is to illuminate, not too bright, the circles. Should look cool at night. Painted the wheels yesterday, I swear Im gonna learn to lace rims, lol. This time the painting didnt take as long, I used the straw technique, taping only the nipple area.Changed bars and gooseneck, I like these better. I like the mix between old and new. I have a seat coming from Dumpster Diver which I hope to clean up a bit and put it on a laid back post. The Brooks I had on there split right in half :(
After looking back at the first pics Im kinda liking the primer red
