This is our 4th year of doing this. Last year the ice came early on the Lake so we were out of luck. Water temps were mid 30's and air around 24 degrees. Most of us stayed warm with 6 mil wetsuits and 7 mil boots and gloves. Check out the ice balls on shore and the ice in the water. Fun time was had by all! Brian in Holland MI.

Ooof! Looks cold! I went to Grand Haven just the other day too... way too much wind. Mixture of sand and snow, super cold, I hate it. But that's great you're doing something physical to warm your body up, I was just standing there freezing, lol. My bro found a super old mallet in the sand right where you guys took that picture.

Surf on! Cool pictures.

CRAZY!!!
That lake is freezing in the summer!! Unless you swim by the power plant.
I was in whitehall area that day and wow brah it was cold.

So do you use a crown royal bag to keep them warm lol.

Holy cow!
And to think I get pissy when the water's like 66 here in SoCal...

Oh man, that is so cool! I've heard of people surfing on the Great Lakes. I think I remember a newscast or somethng about some guys surfing Lake Erie. I need to try this some day...
