just picked up an old Schwinn. the serial # is J147215 I'd sure appreciate if anyone can tell me the year and model,it has a split tooth sprocket and rear hub gear, springer front end, and Also has a multi spoke hub on oppisite of chain with some type of belt hub on it. I can take pix soon. any info appreciater

Welcome! I'm not able to help you on the id of the bike (don't know much at all about old american bikes... :roll: ) but I've seen somewhere on this site where you can look up what the numbers stand for and get the info you're looking for.
