Newer three peice cranks in an old cruser

With a 127mm spindle like you get on the YSTs,you're either going to have your chainline off or you're going to have the NDS crankarm way outboard, which will put you and your cranks off-center. I guess I could live with that, but why would I, when the right parts are available?

If you're using an old set of Sugino cranks that were originally built for a 127.5mm symmetrical Sugino BB, the YSTs sealed units are perfect for chainline etc especially when building up a klunker. They also work with other tapered cranks from that era.
 
I don't reckon I'd consider an "old set of Sugino cranks" to be a newer/modern option. :crazy: Although, technically, they may well be newer than whatever frame the OP is using....
