Newest addition to my tool collection. Pick it up on my way home from the city. Cant wait for it to warm up so I can try it out. Going to pull some junk bike frames out of the scrap pile to practice on.

Im sure the first few projects will look bad but it will take some learning, Its been a few years since Ive even touched a welder and have never used flux core

That is the exact welder I have. I bought mine used about 5-6 years ago, the original owner used it for just one spool of wire. I have run at least 10 through it with no issues at all. I think on 1 occasion I ran over the duty cycle and had to let it rest. I had never welded anything until I brought this one home and plugged it in, never felt like I ever "needed" a welder, but now I couldn't live without one.

With every one around me wanting $25 just to start their welders up. I talked it over with my wife and decided to just get one from hf well after reading the troubles others have had with them I started looking other places and seen Lincoln had some close in price I hunted this one down at hd. Next will be a real mask for it.

I've never had a problem with mine, but at least parts are available. The Harbor Freight welder has a 10% duty cycle and I believe mine (and yours) is 20%.

My father in law was a welder for Caterpillar Tractor for 35 yrs., plus he had his own welding shop. I bugged him to teach me to weld many times. He'd always say the same thing. If you have anything that needs welded, bring it over. I guess he figured I wouldn't have made a good welder or something. Now he's passed and I still can't weld so I pay the $25 min. that dragn mentioned. Oh well. Gary

If you really want to learn, check out your local community college. I took TIG classes and actually ended up qualifying for a grant I had no idea I would qualify for when I filled out the financial aid forms. In the end, the state of Georgia paid entirely for me to learn how to weld!

B607, I learned how to use a welder and a plasma cutter at a buddies home building 4x4 trucks, I did mainly the cutting ( steadier hand the my buddy) but did learn the basics of welding and the rest is just trial and error. If you get alot welded it only makes sense to by a welder like this and practice practice.
