Looks good to me, for being the first stripes you laid down.
I dig pin striping, as you may have seen my jacket, and I also have 8 jam panels from Starbird car shows from the past few years that include Kafka, Myers, Howie, Hightower, Blaineo, and many others. But theres a reason I pay for it, I can't draw a line over 2 inches long with a pencil and eraser, let alone using a brush and One Shot.
Good job. Practice, practice, practice, and someday you'll be jammin with the other cool cats on this site that can lay down cool stripes.

There's nothing nicer than a classic 3-color paint job. Doing freehand panels takes skill and practice. I've never tried it and don't plan on doing it. I have striped a dozen frames just like your Indian though, and they all came out pretty nice. Not perfect, but acceptable. I used the green 3M #218 fine line tape to mask off the place where I put the stripes. This obviously would not work for panels, but for frames it is an almost foolproof method.

I use 1/16" #218 tape and lay it where the pinstripe will go. Then lay a piece of 1/16" on either side. Then a wider piece of tape next to the 1/16" just in case you get sloppy. Remove the middle 1/16" piece and you have your area to be striped masked off. Next, I sand the paint ridge with 400 paper, dry, where the two colors meet and get rid of it so the pinstripe lays nice and flat. I found out sanding that pesky ridge is pretty important. Then you use your pinstripe brush and OneShot. Remove the tape.

While the pro pinstripers might call this cheating, that don't bother me. For me, the destination is more important than the journey. And you'd never know how I did it unless I told you. Gary

Nice job there!, B607.

I don't know if the pro's would call that cheatin' i've seen pro's use tape (in so many ways) for guidance too.
mostly in case where a long straight line is made.

I do respect all pinstripers and those who trying to get started with it, from what i know practise is the keyword here.

i am not a pinstriper myself (no patience) :(
but my girlfriend is and doing not such a bad job for a non pro hobby striper, imho. :D

I tried your links but couldn't find any pinstriping. Second link was dead. ??? Gary

Strange B607,

I don't know what happened there.
I tried both of them just after posting and they worked just fine.
just tried them again, no problem there.
maybe the one site was down at the moment.
At her myspace site you can either start a slideshow or click on her "mugshot"
and you should get some different galleries.
the pinhead lounge site should open on her first page and you can click on throug several pages.

Thank's for the effort though.
