Was at WM this afternoon and swung by the bike department to see what new and exciting things were on display.

This Huffy Regatta Cruiser caught my eye because of the Nexus 3 speed hub out back. The wheels were pretty beefy looking too...maybe 2.125s.

The tires were 26 x 2.35 and looked pretty fat on those wider rims. Bike came with panniers and some funky looking handlebars.

Just need to wait until they drop the price down on these.

I was looking at that same bike last night at the local wallie world I thought it was marked here for $149 I'll have to look again

about the best price I've found on a Nexus 3 speed wheel set is around $150 = 25 for shipping. $199 for the whole bike looks like a steal to me! Of course, don't forget the sales tax.....

I'm loving those handlebars! If you go to Academy Sports, they have the same handlebars, but in black, on the Huffy Sentinel.

They are cool, but they look like they were designed for a specific purpose...like for some special rack or basket attachment.

Im thinking a new Generation of Bars. Who wants to copy old stuff. Oh wait, old stuff is en vogue again.

I thought 3-piece cranks were scorned by this group? Not the case?

Ive see a few 3 piece crank conversions done on the vintage bikes.

I mentioned this in the other thread, but I'll say it here too, it's unfortunate that they had to attach the Huffy name to so many parts in a way that cannot be removed. "Huffy" is embossed into the grips, embroidered into the good looking seat, and if I remember correctly, it is also embossed into the pedals, and stamped into the rear rack and I think the chain guard. Still a good deal, but would be better if not for that. I think the tires might even say Huffy on them.
