Good job. You getting it now! I'm in the same boat as you, it's much easier for me to spin wrenches than use computers.
I'm interested in knowing how you got the fabric/suede to stick to the metal bits. Details please.
i use a high temp hot glue and a lot of sewing, but the trick is in getting a nice seam
 
had to rework the enitire rear fender mounts so i could get full air in the rear tire without it rubbing no major changes

Can you post some closer photos?
Especially where the green leather and the red are close to each other. It sounds like you have acheived something very different and special.
 
I got some closer photos of the bike for all to see
And the seat actually sits moff of the rack.
So it adds spring and cush to the seat. I used a recurved pole that holds good weight.
