Nirve forty nine build

Good evening, just joined the group and started a build as well so let’s get started.
This is a 2016ish Nirve forty nine. I still haven’t figured out what 49 stands for?
I like the style of this frame and it’s a Shimano Nexus 3 speed coaster brake. The springer is awesome, old 90’s Schwinn quality.
so I disassembled the bike and off to the powder coater. Paint is great but I love the durability of powder coating.
Take a good look, your not going to see many of these parts again.

I love this color, Illusion Violet. I see a mix of black and chrome.

Awesome powder quality!
I believe 49 stands for the style they went for. There were a few bikes like 49 or 53, they've picked colors and decorations that in their opinion was looking similar to what was fashionable in that era. I may be wrong though.

Well I got the front end kinda mocked up using a ridged triple clamp fork and installed the cranks.
I decided to name her Violet, notice the name on the chain guard.
I decided to run black aluminum rims provided by a Fuji crusier donor bike. (Rest it’s soul) These rims are light and have the Shimano Nexus 3 speed. I’ll do a little personal touch on these a bit later on.
time to start measuring and remeasuring and then cutting fork tubes and get this front end tightened up.

Wow, I forgot about them! I used them in the late 80’s.
I looked them up and they are still in biz.
I’m going back to do some comparison shopping.
No issues with Primo but what the heck.

Merry Christmas!
I spent the last few days finishing up the wheels. I changed out the standard nipples (1/2) for long (3/4) purple ones, retrued the wheels and added Maxxis “holy roller’s”. 26 X 2.40. These ride sweet on the street even with the knobby tires.
So the wheels are on, chain installed and shifter cable attached and adjusted. Just need to go over every nut and bolt ride it and add the trim.

She rode great, a small chain guard and chain adjustment and that’s that.

I added some small side grill bling I found on Amazon to the tank area, Purple axel nuts and a head light.
The seat, Amazon again and it came with a free bag! The seat is a bit stiff but we will see.

The BB under the seat in photo #3 stands for “Bitchen Bike” (in my opinion). This is how I’m marking my reconstruction projects.

I’m taking her to Veterans Stadium in Long Beach tomorrow morning and see how she goes over.
There’s a motorcycle/bicycle swap meet there every 4th Sunday.

This was my first do whatever I want project and it was great so I have another one on deck for January.

Beautiful bike. I'm personally opposed to the bar bag, I feel like it clutters up the front end, but that's minor and people need stuff. I'd rather have something under the seat

I agree! The bag goes and gets replaced with a second headlight. ( it was free with the seat)
I need to fab a bracket to get them both to stack right, step back and look again.
There never really done.

Fork tubes? These are 24 inches long and 1 1/8 OD.
I took about 2 inches off the top.
