Hey, y'all. Just purchased a Mongoose Dolomite Fat Tire. I'm really old, so I will not be riding trails or snow. I just like the way these fat tire bikes look and my plan is to make it a comfortable street cruiser. Look forward to learning how to do that from you guys

Welcome aboard!
I read your other post about your height and preferences on riding position.
For starters, check your cable length to see how high you can go with your bars without needing longer ones. Looking at pics of the Dolomite online it looks like there isn't enough slack to put apehangers on it, but some BMX bars may give you enough height.
As for leg room, the two most common methods is either a 'laid back' seat post or some type of banana seat. Rear derailleur will make mounting a sissy bar 'challenging' and they aren't the most comfortable for rear ends over 25. I went the 'BMX' route on my Beast (single speed predecessor of the Dolomite)

Good luck bud!

Hey, thanks for your reply. Good looking bike for sure. I will get that layback seat post real soon. I really want apehangers and I know I will have to get new cables and that's ok. I just need to decide how tall I want them

No, I just wanted to make it clear I'm only riding on the street. D/FW area. Can't remember the last time I saw snow.

I asked a couple of questions down in Fat Bikes. Guess they don't like my thoughts. No answers. Oh well. I gave it a try

There was a lot of folks playing around with fat bikes a while back when you could first start getting them cheap at Wallys, etc, etc...but, no so much as of late. It may be that the novelty has died down. I have seen at least a couple fat bikes with apehangers posted on the site...they may be victims of the photobucket scam. Try the show me your apehangers thread...might be in there.
