Anyone seen this yet? Local Motors is a new, start up company that will build, electric and a gas-powered, bikes. Pricey, but, cool!

What is NOS about it?

Cool looking art objects, no actual functional bikes built yet as they are attempting crowdfunding now.. Someone is definitely a marketer in that group.

Repeated descriptions of all the visual things with little mechanical talk makes me think it may never get off the ground.
it has "sidewall tires" whatever they are.

I know it's expensive to make this kind of stuff but for the price you can buy a small motorcycle.

No thanks. I could probably get 3 or 4 Honda Rebels in good shape at that price, and be able to legally ride them on the interstate.

Looks more like an art project than something useful.

Gas-engined bikes could be useful to a lot of people, but are always going to be hobbled in the USA due to lack of legislative support.
Electric bikes are hobbled by the fact that they're battery-powered.

Good luck to him anyway, it takes a lot of work to arrange everything involved in something like this.
