Good idea, Was looking to wrap the electrical with cloth bat tape.Or wrap it with hockey/bat tape....
There's also a cloth wrapped fuel line for V.W.'s that I used on my motorized bike that looks good.
I've never heard anything good about those chain tensioners that come with the kit. With your ability to fabricate with metal, you might do yourself a favor and make a bracket that will connect to the seat stay. I'd hate for that bracket to twist into the side of your tire!

Im just glad it broke on the test ride, rather than at 30mph...Shame about the chain issue and breaking the engine mount, from what I have read those engine mounts are pretty weak to start with, what about adding a piece of 1/4" plate on the outside of the mount, where you have the extra washers, to hold it all together?
