I've had great luck for smalls this week.. better than a whole bike in my opinion
First up is this cool old Troxel seat that my grandma got at a flea market for me. It really is in great shape except for a few chips around the edges. I haven't cleaned it yet. It's a small seat like what would go on a kid's bike.. It'll fit perfectly on my 46 Spitfire. Any idea on how old it is? And it says Pat Pending on the bottom.
2. There's a Habitat for Humanity Store right down the street from where I work and recently they had an old school close down and they donated all of their books to them. I'm talking back to the 20's and 30's. Found a lot of old western books for my parents and I was about to leave when I found this one on the bottom shelf in one of the hallways. "It's Easy to Fix your Bike" by John W. McFarlane. Printed in 1949. The diagrams and charts in the book are amazing. Definitely worth the 50 cents I gave for it!!
Got this one too at the same place, from the same school. "All-Terrain Bicycling" by Charles Coombs. It's pretty much brand new, never been checked out. It has a lot of cool pictures and information about working on mountain bikes. Should come in handy.
3. I like old flashlights.. I just think they look cool mounted on the handlebars and these two were cheap and cool looking. I especially like the one with the domed lens on it.
4. I got this really deep fender the other day. I think it's from a Monark? Not sure though. The rear reflector is cool. Only tiny dents in the fender.. nothing big enough to worry about hammering out. Check out that patina(;
5. Oh! And I almost forgot, I bought this 1980 Schwinn Yo! Scooter at a yardsale a week or two ago for $5. My cousin as already claimed it though so I'm gonna tear it down and paint it hot pink for her
