OIL/ALKYD Paint Clearcoating?

Hello

What kind of clearcoat does one use over oil/alkyd Rustoleum type paint? Does the paint have to fully cure beforehand(1 month)?

Oh, I painted the bike with a brush, not spray paint. What I read about laquer is that it will melt the paint underneath unless that paint is also laquer. I did it once over spray enamel and the paint underneath bubbles.

Polyurethane might be the thing to use, but I think it will yellow. I'm not too confident about brushing on a clearcoat either, but maybe with enough wetsanding it will come out ok.
