Old Elgin and a blue thing

Picked up this pair today. Kind of an OK Elgin motorbike, air cooled hub is probably nice under the black paint , would have been better if it had the seat and the og chainring.




Also grabbed this blue bike, CWC? Firestone, I don't know...I liked the curved stays and wrap around chainguard though

Your elgin is a 38 to 40 and the mystery blue bike is a CWC roadmaster mid 40s.

Yeah, I like the Elgin motoballooner! If you get a chance, post up the serial. It looks like a Westfield bike and we can nail a date with a serial. I think '38 or maybe spring/summer '39 would be the latest they sold a motobike style frame so I'm thinking you may find a B, C or D serial.

The CWC is fairly similar to my 47 model I'm using in the build off, I haven't seen that chain guard before though.
