Hi guys. This will be my starting point. The goal is to build a nice new ride for my wife...

Colours are already set by request, for the rest I'll have to go through my parts boxes on the campground.

It's about time SwissGal got a new ride! :D

I see them holes in your fender! You can put some neat coat protector strings or ropes through there.

Great start!

It was my only chance to get her approval for building another new bike... 😜

Already got a few ideas for those holes.
Best thing about this frame and fenders is that I got it for free!
Frame and fenders will probably get sandblasted and powder coated in the base color. I'll see if I can/want to integrate the original NSU logos. They are available as water decals I might even have some stored away in my stash...

If your wife doesn't object to her bike being named 'Old' Lace, you're already way ahead of the game!

In the States we have a brand of instant chocolate milk / hot cocoa called 'Swiss Miss'. A name alternative, might win you bonus points with the intended recipient as well.

She ain't swiss, so probably no bonus points to get there...

Almost at the bottom of page 2... o_O
You guys are crazy! @kingfish254 has already more pages than I have posts!
I thought I'd get on the campground this weekend to dig through my stash, but it didn't work out. There was just too much work to do in the garden. But now it is finally presentable again and we might enjoy it tomorrow by just sitting in the opened up shed and having some coffee, tea and rhubarb* cake (*plucked in the garden and made by my wife with the help of our little one)...🥮☕🫖
I'll keep you updated as soon as there is real progress (or when I get to page 2 again...)

My rhubarb isn't ready yet this Spring. Usually I've baked something from the stalks by now. Have a relaxing day tomorrow, gardenside!

After another Saturday of garden work and watching the Ice hockey Semifinal (Switzerland 🇨🇭 beat Canada 🇨🇦 in penalty shoot out after tying the game to 2:2 in the last third) I finally made it to the campground. Too late to to dig into the treasure boxes as it's already 11 p.m. here, but I'll do so in the morning to be back home in time to watch the final games. Canada will compete against Sweden for Bronze and Switzerland against Czechia for Gold!

CONGRATS! That has to be a pretty big victory! Good luck against Czechia

Yeah, that game was nerve wrecking! 😬
But I think tonight will be even worse, as the Czechs have the audience on their side...
But first I need to take care of some bike stuff here. I already did a quick round around the lake on the CapitanTerror and even went for an early morning swim. No some coffee and cereal and then I get at work...

Made good progress today and found some nice parts in the boxes. Nothing is final, but now I have a few options to finally start this build.
Here's my first basic mockup. The wheels are only placeholders. I only found one rim I liked, I'll probably have some more stashed away in the basement at home.

I also put together a parts box
IMG_20240526_123425760.jpg

All packed up and ready to load into the trunk

But I need to load in something else first...

This will get some roadtime in the next few weeks and maybe an upgrade from single to three speed...
All packed up and ready to go...

I had to stop watching hockey, it's too intense! I don't find stress relaxing
The final game was even worse!
(Not only because they lost)
I only watch the World Championships, but then it's all in for Switzerland!

Probably gonna keep this one for the Autumn BO... I won't be able to finish it until the deadline anyway like I have it in mind, so no need to stress and hurry. Better keep collecting parts. There is still a lot missing...

I just cleaned up after a fruitful Sunday...
IMG_20240617_001606401.jpg

Lots of black currant, red currant and mixed red and white currant marmelade.

Rest of the currant and the goose berries are due next weekend...
