I just returned home from work related travel to Japan. It's good that I stopped in Hawaii on my way home because I would have taken more picture of bicycles in Japan had it not been for a hike up Diamond Head Crater in Hawaii!!

Check out the factory headlamp/basket supports configuration...they were everywhere! Also, the Japanese policeman DID NOT want me taking pictures of his belt driven bike. I snapped the two pictures when he was directing traffic, and then I slipped aboard the US Navy Base where I was working. Enjoy!

I did not have any opportunities to shop around while in Japan. If I had a week or two I would have seen and learned a lot more. The US Dollar has tanked overseas, and I couldn't afford to do much!

That's some interesting stuff. I wouldn't mind one of those Chevy bikes to match my truck.

Haha I thought the same thing when I seen it, where the chevy bikes in japan or hawaii?

the belt drive stuff is available here also but its quiet expensive

I believe Raleigh has a belt drive "city bike" out. I saw an ad for it in a cycling magazine this year.

Cool bike pix, some really different frames and stuff.

Love that Masi single speed (perhaps fixed), nice tight tolerance on that rear wheel.

I wish I could trust a wheel lock around here, seems like all these bikes were locked to themselves an no other structure.
