Once again New Years Day Surfing Lake Michigan

Here's some shots from our 6th Annual New Years Day Paddle Out. No snow and decent but falling temps (upper 30's ). Waves started small and quickly grew chest high and more but just crummy shape Twenty two of us for the photo and more joined for the surf. Good way to start the new year! Water temps in the mid 30's but no ice like last year. Brian

As a former So. Cal surf rat I can appreciate the er- guts (yeah, that's it) that you guys have to do that. And that is some mean and gnarly looking storm swell. Kudos, guys. That's more fun than I'd ever want to have

holy cow! im from nj beach area and ya surfers go out in the freezing days no biggy there , but A LAKE never would of thought that one , way cool
