One on the wish list....'53 Huffy Dial-Your-Ride

I've really wanted one of these for a while.....thanks to my good buddy Nate I've got one now. Thank goodness he already has 3 of them. I think he really wanted to keep this one also :mrgreen: Nate called me about 6 or 8 weeks ago and told me he had a line on another one and asked me if I was interested..... "you know I am !" I've been bugging him about his for a while now. It panned out and I went and picked it up last night and got a really good deal on it.....Thanks again Nate. I'm a really happy fella!

A really nice original paint, early 1953 Huffy Dial-Your-Ride. It was only missing the pedals....Nate it turns out I did have a nice set of Torrington 10's.

So does the "Dial-Your-Ride" part refer to the front fork?

For some reason I always thought that was the model with the radio built into the tank.

Yes. I've never seen one but I believe you turn the top part of the fork to adjust the tension on the spring

yes, on the dial-in fork.

great looking bike. really like the paint scheme on the tank/rack. they sure don't build em like that anymore.

Yes, the dial your ride has an adjustable spring tension.......comes in handy when you weigh a little more than 120 lbs :mrgreen:

It's my understanding the fork was an option on the big tank bike, as were the chrome fenders. From what I'm told the only other option was a front drum brake. I need to find out what kind these used and add one. It is a cool and unusual fork.

I miss it already the garage feels different with out it. . the next time I go to the museum Jeff I will look what kind of drum brake was on it.
