The 1961 Schwinn Flying Star with this double bar frame was a one year model, the frame was also used on the Tornado and Skipper. It's a middle weight but like most MW Schwinn frames from the 60s it will handle most 2.125 balloon tire profiles with the fenders on and 2.35 with the fenders off.
The paint appears to be original, but it appears that someone used too strong a cleaner on it and caused the paint to get damaged and start peeling off the fenders to reveal the red underneath (Back in the day Schwinn would paint the white fenders red first and then white leaving inverted red pinstripes) Not sure but there might be some touch ups on the frame. Overall it would have to be completely repainted to restore, but would make a great custom or be cool left ratty.
Frame/Fork is straight with no holes, dents, bends or re-welds. Fenders have some dents in them. Includes everything in the pictures including original headset, kickstand, bottom bracket cups, original AS bolt seat clamp and seat post.
$140.00 local pickup, $180.00 shipped in the continental USA only.
Thanks
