I am rebuiding a Schwinn Collegiate to look like a large Fastback or Manta Ray... like THIS
Since it's 26", I bought a pair of Felt Shorty Fenders. Since I'm using a Jerald slick in the back, it will fill it out. But I was going to use the regular 26x1/38" in the front. The issue is which front fender should I use?
Here's the front with the fender it came with.
I was thinking of cutting it about here. But I'm worried that if I cut it, it's going to look like crap.
Here's the shorty fender. I'd have to squeeze it in.
Even if I squeeze it, it's still going to be a LOT fatter than the tire. (Maybe I should get a 26x1.75 for the front?)
What do you think? Any thoughts and/or advice?
