Unless of course, they got stuck with a Falcon hub.

Same here. I came on this forum interested in the whole vintage cruiser thing, I have acquired a bunch of bikes since then but its kind of funny how everything has sort of moved to this style build.
My only problem with doing other builds, I really have too many bikes as it is.

I am an off-road bike rider at heart. Spent 14 seasons on the Midwest regional mountain bike racing circuit and sponsored races and events for 10 of those. Edited a couple of mt bike magazines and newsletters. But the sheer joy of building and riding this klunker of mine is hard to beat ! @jamesdart , I hear ya. I have already built two klunkers in the past 8 months and I can feel another one coming on.....it's in our blood....

OJ, I have a new one already started. That free generic frame I picked up now has a triple T shocked fork on it now and I am working to finish mocking it up to a 24 speed this weekend...

It should be a light Jumper, I really want to ride those gap jumps on the frenchman run, and the bomber is a bit to heavy to jump the gaps... so building one that I can destroy if I miss on one of the jumps...

Keep us posted! Maybe we should have a sub-group of klunker builders.... I think there might be a few candidates in this build off forum.
