I can enter one bike in each category . Since my other build off bike the Colson Resto Rod is just about close to done. I decided to enter this bike in the anything goes catagory . I’m not expecting to weld on this one but it’s such a odd bike and I need to put a new tire on and seat plus tune it up. This also needs better brakes . I figured why not do a rebuild and change some parts and enter the build off with it. This bike has been my wheel barrel, My beach bike and more for about 7 years . It has been pushed to its limits and deserves a rebuild . It’s amazing how poorly chrome was done expecially on the bars. The plan is to have this finished by July 1 or so because I need it for the beach !

Today was really hot and humid in the North East . I waited till early evening to get done what I could . I gave the bike a good intial cleaning . Changed the bars snd stem.(I’m likely not keeping these bars unless I have to for done unforeseen reason. ) changed out the broken seat for somthing better . New larger tires to be installed tomorrow I hope . The front fender is something I’m debating on weather to keep or change or no fender at all ?

Thank you! I honestly don’t remember where the stem came from it was just in my parts bin.

Weather is not my friend again today . It was humid as heck. Then it was super for about 2 hours . Then the down pours came . But I managed to put on new rear tires and a new front wheel , installed working front brakes . And better pedals. Plus a aluminum front fender. I just need to hook up the rear brakes . And make a system to hold the family’s beach gear. Plus shorten the front brake cable once I decide if I’m swapping out the bars.

I would use a 'stave side' design, similar to what some farm trucks had. They could slide into brackets that were bolted to the sides of the trailer, so they could be removed when you didn't need them.

I like the minimalist look of this stake side or stave sided old '52 truck....

Of course, a wood bed added to your build would tie it in very nicely!

The glue backed veneer that I used on my Shelby Woody Flyer would work well for a wood accent around the sides of your bed too.

I just painted in where the indentations are in the sides of the hauler.
