Our son graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson yesterday. We drove 8 hours Tuesday for Family Day and spent the night for the ceremonies yesterday (Wednesday). We had to sign papers for the Army to release him into our care so we could bring him home for his 2 week leave. He will be stationed somewhere in Texas and will be going into the medical field. He was bragging how he scored 37 or 38 out of 40 on the rifle range. He didn't get the Hawkeye award but did get a medal for marksman. He'll be heading for Texas on January 1st.
