Well got poking around my unit and found these wheels I forgot I had. Came off a Walmart whatever cruiser but the color is a dead ringer to my girl's Roadmaster that I picked up. I've got tires, I've got tubes, I've got chain, I've got a crank I can use, I have everything but a fork.

Well I went to the local antique shop this morning to check out a bike frame and fork that I saw there before because I'm currently looking for a fork for my roadmaster build long story short the fork steer tube is too short so it won't work for my purpose but I did see another bike there for what I think was a smokin' deal and it followed me home. Spotted this Sears Spyder 500 sitting in a booth behind a bunch of stuff. Looked it over and it looks like most of the chrome will clean up, rear wheel is gonna need spokes and probably the front too. Other than that and some cables it looks to be all there and easily restorable. Seat is minty. I think I did okay for $40.13 after tax.

Parts bike! Scored this little Mongoose today for $20. Mainly got it for the rims which will be wrapped in gumwall tires and installed on my Predator frame along with the gyro system, brakes, stem, and bars. The chain sprocket may find it's way into the bandit bike as well.

this sprocket might do to pull off the look on the Bandit Klunker.

Predator looks much better on spokes and gumwalls. The GT fan blade mags are now far away from it. I may order a set of decals for this one and clean it up.

Amazing how similar these frames are. Still need to install the decals on this one. Any advice on doing waterslide decals???

So I had an interesting trade offer on my 68 Mini Twinn. Guy offered a 1955 Red Phantom (has been painted but all there and og paint looks to have been preserved underneath) and a prewar black phantom (Also been painted but again all there minus tank)

I'm feeling it but wanted to ask advice here. Should I do it?

Selfishly from my point of view? Yes! The mini Twinn is cool and I have really enjoyed watching the build. But you’re done. I want to see you build something else. Is it a fair in terms of dollar value? I have no idea.

I'm kinda thinking the same way, I am finished with the Mini Twinn and I can't comfortably ride it being I'm not a young guy anymore. I have always wanted to build a Black Phantom and this might just be my chance. It would certainly be cool to restore them both and have a few more ridable relics in my collection.

ask your self what's easier to find/ buy. if say you decide later you still really want one like it.

Very true but for me the thrill of the hunt is over... I've found one. I've owned one. I've restored one. I'd rather have cool bikes I can ride and enjoy comfortably than have a piece of eye candy just hanging on the wall to brag about and make other collectors jealous. Don't get me wrong I love having a Mini Twinn in my collection and it's huge bragging rights but I never ride it so it doesn't get seen and appreciated as it should. I have not yet owned a Black Phantom or Red Phantom and restoring them to their former glory would to me bring just as much joy as it did when I restored the Mini Twinn and additional joy from being able to ride and show off my work. Not to mention the storage factor. Tandems take up a lot of space and the two Phantoms could be hung up on the bike hooks. I guess I'm talking myself into this deal... But maybe that's a good thing.

Well the deal is on and I should be getting the pair plus a bonus Hawthorne he's throwing in on the deal. He said he does have the tank for one of them and chain guard and fenders too. Hopefully meeting up Tuesday. Can't wait to clean the respray off of it and see how the original paint is underneath.

I have a Schwinn Twinn now that I’m trying to unload. The novelty wears off fast and it is just always in the way. Good choice!
I'll forever remember that I had a Mini Twinn but to me it's just another crossed off the bucket list like my Hutch Judge, Stingrays, recumbent trikes, fat bikes, first bike from the 40's, first bike from the 30's, and other milestones I have conquered in my years of collecting. I will top it someday. It will be a tall order but I will someday find my unicorn a 1937 Elgin Bluebird.

Dang, that Murray looks familiar!

That Murray's got the perfect patina! And it even has the rack and tank! That's a good bonus to an already sweet deal! Looking forward to seeing what you do with those Schwinns!

I like the fenderless look of that. And yeah that fender is not gonna buff out. I do have a few pair that I need to use though...

Sounds like you're in a similar boat to mine. I've got a ton of frames and parts I need to use up, so I can hurry up and scale down the collection.
