Ok I'm needing to know how to paint over chrome and with it looking good in the end. How do it prep it? Sandpaper? SandBlast? I think I will rattle can it but would it hold better if I had it powdercoated?

Thanks

chrome is a plating, if your going rattle can, i would scuff it up and use an etching primer first

if your goint to have it powder coated, theyd most likely mediablast it before coating it.

Duplicolor makes an adhesion promoter that you can apply to chrome. I beleive from there it's prime and paint. I haven't tried it and I have my doubts about it's longevity. The better method is to take your parts to a chrome shop and have them strip the chrome. You'll then be left with the underlying nickle plate which you can scuff, clean and use standard primer. Prep is key. I beleive once the nickle is exposed you can powdercoat from there. Check out http://www.finishing.com and http://www.caswellplating.com
