I pulled out my digital video camera while queuing for the Christmas parade, then it stayed in my pocket for the rest of the ride, but thanks to something called Facebook I have been able to go and steal a bunch of photos that others took.

The trike with apes, the stretched chopper and the pink Walmart Schwinn bike belonged to the man on the trike, but the rest of the bikes are mine.

Enjoy and discuss!

That is super cool!!!
Fugsley would have fit right in with that bunch o bikes!!!!

Mostly just a bunch of freaks. If you will notice Buddy the Elf (me) never raised his left arm to grab the other side of the ape hanger, still have a couple months or more of physical therapy to go. I can get on and off of the red/yellow tall bike alright, but can't ride the tallest one right one (my ride of choice) so I haven't been able to ride it since I've made some improvements (new bars, new brake, new lower gear, and smooth tires).

The girl on the swing bike really showed it off well, as seen in the photos, she never rode it "straight."

Yeah I was gonna say it looks like the swinger got quite a workout!

You can't even imagine, she put it down plenty, but I didn't care, she was riding it right, but it will need new paint, a new sissy bar, and a new banana seat... the only thing I have of that is paint, haha.

Your boys little chopper turned out cool!

I ran out of time and just cleaned it up some to get it ready for the parade. When I get time I'll strip it down and paint it and add some graphics he wants, but it was a nice rider for the parade.

I also love this photo. The kid looks like he is floating in the air.

Yeah, good kid, he had a lot of fun riding, he had never ridden any of my bikes and I brought him home from church so he could ride. He had fun trying all the different bikes and really liked the baby tall bike.

You know the biggest difference between your bikes and mine?..... yours actually get RIDDEN!
This looks like it was a great time, good on ya buddy. Hope that shoulder gets better soon (honestly, I thought you were reaching under the seat for your suicide shifter... )

P.S. Can you hook a brother up with a pair of those elf shoes? Crazy cool........

Cheers,
Dr. T

Thanks Dr. T, I wish I had more people around to just ride with me casually, but when I have 12 bikes ready for riders (actually more than that) I guess any day could be a parade.

The shoes... I made those, if you really wanted a pair I could make you some, they slip over a pair of Chuck Taylors.

Your elf suit both makes me laugh and creeps me out
I like the photo of the girl with the swing bike folded up.

Looks like the weather was perfect and everyone is having fun. Keep up the good work with the kids.
Hope the shoulder heals soon.

The weather was perfect if you weren't wearing a THICK Buddy the Elf costume.

Looks like a really great time for the kids. I like all your bikes! Thanks for posting!

It was a good time for the kids and the spectators, last year and this year I have had adults and kids tell me the best part of the parade was the bikes, it's just not the expected thing for a parade any longer. When I was a kid, the LBS always had an assortment of bikes riding in the parade, but this rarely happens in little towns with no bike shops, like this town the the last 2 I lived in.

Kids see car clubs, fire trucks, church floats, bands, and shriners... over and over again, then the crazy bikes, something different, and something more relateable to them, they will talk about it till next year's parade.

If it's hot again next year I will retire the elf suit, it wasn't as hot last year so I didn't sweat as much, the year before that no Elf suit and I was FREEZING! When I wear the suit I yell Buddy the Elf quotes and people really laugh, it's amazing how popular that movie is with all demographics.

The girl on the swing bike is an 8th grader, she swims and plays soccer, maybe volleyball too, but she is tough and was doing some amazing things on that bike.

Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing!

It was a lot of fun, most of the kids already want to ride again last year, but I asked my son (he has ridden the last 2 years) and he said he wants to watch the parade next year, which is fair enough, and he wants to get all the candy!

I want a swingbike. They look so cool to ride.

The elf is really creepy. I can't believe you would let him ride your bike! Don't tell him I said that.

You rode that Higgins with one hand! Props to you, man! Looked like a great time

Those apes handle very well as well as they are at 90 degrees, if you put them forward ANY it gets weird.

If I had to turn real sharp I would grab the bottom of the bars with my left hand, and riding to the parade I was going pretty fast downhill and just held the bottom of the bars.

Went to doctor today and he removed me from assisted and limited physical therapy and now I am open to work within my comfort level "respect your pain." So if I can reach a handlebar, I can hold it now.
