I've been looking for a tank for my 53 phantom and this has showed up on the local CL. Would that tank fit a Phantom frame? and while we're on the topic, what is that bike worth as it sits. I think it's overpriced at 100 since the wheels are unusable and most everything is badly rusted.

Yes that tank will fit. It's made Feb 04, 1960 and it's a Hornet or a Jaguar.

Although that tank will fit, technically it's not correct for a Phantom. That tank will have a notch it to run a cable through. Is the bike worth $100? I think so. The tank is worth that, the reflector (what's left of it) is worth $25, wheels, crank, frame, fork all add up so if you all you want is the tank I'm sure you could offset most of the cost, if not all of it and then some by selling off the rest of the parts.
