Got these two bikes for $100 total! Guy said he won them on Price is Right. In pretty rough shape, but can't wait to refurb and customize them. I have always LOVED Phat Cycle bikes!

Wow, that is a great score for a Franklin!

Thanks for the comments guys, worked on the yellow one this weekend. Will post some pics later this evening.

Cool looking PHATS  I love the PHATS too. They got some seriously cool lines. I wanted to put that style fork on mine but at the time I could only afford a cheap springer. Yours gives me some ideas though

Worked on the yellow one this past weekend...here are the results. I took the wheels off the black one and added the offset seat post, springer fork that I had in my parts pile, Iron cross sprocket and a couple of Fatti-O 24x3 tires. Also painted and cleared the bars black.

Looks great! :D What size were the old tires? :D

Actually the original tires were the same size...24x3, but were Kenda tires. I think the black rims make the tires look bigger :)

Started working on the black one this weekend. Took it down to the frame, painted and cleared the rims and laced the hubs. The more I work on these two Phats, the more I like them! :)

Wow! where are those made at?

blackdiamond - I am pretty sure they are made by Phat Cycles out of CA. Don't see many of them here on the East Coast, but I have been fortunate enough to find a few on CL.

I'd take a punch in the stomach for one of those rear rims!

These look great!

Cheers,

THANKS for the comments! Pretty cool that they came stock from the factory with offset 80mm rims! I almost think the rears could handle a 100mm rim. That may be my next little project. :) Just don't know what hub I could use to do this. I know Nexus has a "wide" 3 speed that would work, but I would really like to find a wide 7 speed. hmmmm...but since the spokes are offset, maybe a normal 7 speed would work with spacers on the opposite side??
