I believe so. This was a mockup. I've since put on some grade 8 bolts so they won't shear off. And there is a rubber washer in between as well as rubber inserts on the brackets so it has some forgiveness. My buddy had broached the same concern, especially because the brackets are aluminum...we'll see on the test ride.
I question if this will work with those brackets regardless of the spring tension. I feel like the brackets will slide with enough pressure on them.
Thank you! Yes, I agree. The brackets would slide, and/or the geometry wouldn't be right in the flex or compression of the springs. Also, when looking at clearance, I would likely bottom out after hitting a solid bump (or at least scrape a crank arm).I question if this will work with those brackets regardless of the spring tension. BTW the little Krylon cans are so cool and the garbage can discs look great! The binding bolts are perfect!
