I have had this super nice 5 speed '77 Suburban for a while and wasn't able to sell it. That led to me stripping it for parts to build my wife's bike. The frame, forks, and wheels were all that didn't get used so they went on the wall until today.

I split the frame and stretched it about 5'

A bit more steel in place

Added a seat and bars so I can begin to find the correct spot for the bottom bracket.

The 111° finally chased me out of the garage for the day. More to come this week!

I took some time this morning to squirt some paint on the new steel. Not a perfect match to the original, but I think it compliments it well.
I will get some pics in full sun later.

The bike is destined to be raffled off at the Midwest Bicycle Fest.

Crazy Cool! I'd love to ride this thing! Wonder how it would look with a big old umbrella sticking out of the old seat tube? :)

He's building a long bike and has a way cool back rest going on 8)

I have been riding this bike like mad! It is a blast to ride and everyone wants a look at it (only a few are brave enough to try to ride it). I also took the time to measure it- 10' 6" wheel tip to wheel tip. I am going to miss having it in the garage after it gets raffled off.

I added a small accent to the sprocket to help dress it up a bit.
