Picked up this 40's Westfield built Pope today. Unfortunate about the house paint and microdrive 1/2" pitch drivetrain swap but the other goodies make up for it.

and I dug this guy up yesterday while doing some dirtwork. biggest one I've found so far, aparently they can grow up to 12" long. Not expecially rare but they are a good indicator of a healty forest or wetland

I should have put a tape measure on him (her?)(it?), somewhere between 6-7" long though. I was in the backhoe digging a drainage ditch and when I swung the bucket over to my pile and there was spotty sitting on top.

It took a few weeks to secure the Pope, bit of a drive too but I'm happy. It would be neat to know the story behind the drivetrain, did the skiptooth chain break? Were the hills too steep?

the shop also had a blue mens Schwinn Speedster 3 speed for sale but the last one I had (coppertone) was as clean or maybe better and I couldn't flip it for any more than they were selling for so I passed.
