Re: POST PHOTOS HERE FOR THE GALLERY PAGE
my Jesse James west coast chopper bike.
Nothing special really, but I added a 24" occ front wheel & tire, replaced the rear wheel with an aluminum one that i built, and chopped the seat post. I re-worked the fake gas tank by grinding down the big weld that runs across the front. I re-shaped and smoothed out the front of the tank and cut a hole in the top to add a gas cap.
I painted the tank with metallic orange laquer and clear coat.
since these pics. were taken I've added some billit hand grips, a smaller 36 tooth chrome front sprocket, different cranks, and pedals painted to match the gas tank.
When I got this bike, the tank, forks, rims and the spider web gusset were sprayed with flat black wrinkle finish engine paint. they sanded down the forks before they sprayed them, which caused the chrome to lose it's shine. The back rim that was on it was a black freewheel bmx rim that had a really bad flat spot in it and busted spokes.
I paid $20.00 for the bike when I bought it and it doesn't look too bad in the pic. But up close it was a real mess. they didn't remove the tank, the forks or the wheels when they painted them. They didn't even use masking tape on anything so even the tires got painted. They also added 2 blue lights under the frame, which were nothing more than 6 volt lightbulbs inside some blue painted plastic trailer light housings that were taped to the frame. In the ad that they placed on criagslist, they said that the blue lights were neon lights....lol.
